Math Club will do tutoring on Tuesday mornings this year.  If you need a little help with your math class, the Math Club is here for you.  Come to room A112 on Tuesday mornings from 7:45-8:15. Bring your math work with you and get help from some of Captain Shreve's best math students.

Are you planning or already working on a research or writing assignment? Would you like a little extra time to work on it at school or someone to help you get over the rough spots? Starting this week, October 1, we will have a Writing Center/Workshop after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-4:45 in room A214. We will be there to answer questions and help you with problems. This applies to any research or writing assignment in any class. Contact Ms. Reeser with questions.

Student Council is sponsoring a Pack the Pantry homeroom contest.  Each homeroom is asked to collect canned goods for the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank.  The deadline to submit entries to student council in Room A113 is November 6. The winning homeroom with the most pounds per person will receive a donut party.  Also, we want Captain Shreve to continue to be a winner in the parish contest, as we have in the past. LET'S SHOW OUR GATOR SPIRIT FOR OUR SCHOOL AND THE FOOD BANK.

The fall blood drive is October 29.  Representatives from the blood center will be in the cafeteria foyer during lunch shifts on October 25 and 26 to sign up donors.  If you are 16 years of age, be sure that you get a parent permission slip from the representatives in order to donate blood. You will need to present this permission slip on October 29 when you go to donate.  Donations will be made in B103.

There will be a Spanish Club meeting on Wednesday, October 24, in room MH11 from 3:50 to 4:50.  Please bring crayons, markers or colored pencils to the meeting. Make sure you are picked up promptly at 4:50.

Tenth graders: We are looking for outstanding leaders of the sophomore class.  The 2019 Hugh O’Brian Leadership Award will be presented to three tenth grade students who have already shown strong leadership potential.  Please sign the clipboard in the front office if you would like to be considered for this prestigious award! The deadline to sign up for HOBY is Friday, November 2.
