Boys Basketball tryouts will be held on August 24 at Captain Shreve High-School. Tryouts will begin at 8:00 A.M. and last until everyone has been evaluated. Please come to MH08 and see Coach Deans to sign up.

There will be a Black Studies Association meeting for all current members on Tuesday, August 20, at 7:45-8:15 in Magnet Hall 04.  There will be a make-up meeting after school Tuesday, August 20, at 3:55-4:25. Only current members can attend.

Calling all runners:  Anyone who is intereested in joining the cross country team should stop by room A112 before or after school any day this week to see Mrs. Simon for information.  You can also just show up for practice this Monday or Wednesday at the Pavillion at 4:00 to meet Coach Hilburn and get information. All are welcome, but female runners are especially needed.

A SUSLA representative will visit with Captain Shreve students on August 26 during both lunch shifts in the cafeteria foyer. Stop by if you’re interested!

Attention theatre kids! The Theatre Performance Team will hold auditions for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe Tuesday and Wednesday, August 20 and 21, from 4:00-5:30 in the auditorium.  If you wish to be considered for a speaking role, you must attend both days. Tuesday's audition includes a prepared and memorized monologue.  For more information and for the required audition packets, see Ms. Hooper in Annex 9.

Do you have a passion for military history?  What about a drive to honor those who have served in our nation’s armed forces?  A new club known as the Veterans Legacy Preservation Society has formed this year.  The mission of the Veterans Legacy is to honor veterans of the American Military by helping preserve their stories of service for future generations through research, interview, and publishing.  Members of this club will interview American veterans, research their deployment, and author biographies to be printed and published within the Library of Congress. If you are interested in applying for this opportunity, pick up an application packet from Mr. Deville and/or attend an interest meeting in room A111 at 3:50 pm Thursday, August 22, or 7:45 am Friday, August 23.  Veterans Legacy. Returning members of My Alpha Theta will meet in Mrs Simon's room A112 this Friday, Aug 23 at 7:45.  Please be on time and bring a copy of your transcript.

A representative from LSU College of Music and Dramatic Arts will be here September 4th at 1pm to visit with interested seniors.  Sign up in the binder in the front office if interested!
