Congratulations to Olivia Hilburn for being named the CSHS Carson Scholarship nominee! She was selected based on her outstanding academic achievements, service and essay by the Carson Scholarship committee. Olivia will now be competing at the national level for a $1,000 scholarship to go towards any U.S. university. Way to go, Olivia!
Attention students, staff, and administration. The Lady Gators Basketball team is requesting your support with their Toys for Tots drive to benefit families from the local Easter Seal Organization. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for ages 4-11 between now and December 17th to be dropped off in Coach Greene's classroom or to any Lady Gator basketball team member. Let's show our community that Capt Shreve is ready to spread a little love and Christmas cheer.
Senior yearbook ads are available for purchase through January 25th. You can fill out an order form with Mr. Long in A212 and submit pictures directly or through email to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also order and design your ad online at jostens.com. Ads can be purchased for individuals or for groups, and can include pictures or be simple words of encouragement that will be forever included in the 2019 yearbook. Prices start at $75 for 1/8 page and range to $300 for a full page. Don’t wait until the deadline! Get your senior ad today!
The JROTC Program is sponsoring a Shoebox Christmas Donation Program. The purpose of this donation is to give the children of the Gingerbread House who have been victims of sexual assault and domestic violence the chance to experience Christmas. This donation program will be held from November 12th to December 7th. Everyone is asked to give things such as small toys, hygiene products , and school supplies that are small enough to put in a shoebox. Please take donations to the JROTC building or to a JROTC instructor.
If you are a freshman interested in taking the PSAT9, now is the time to sign up! Your test results will set a baseline measurement of your college and career readiness as you enter high school. The cost is $11 and can be paid to Mrs. Dye or on Payforit.net. Deadline to sign up is Monday, December 17.

Attention all sophomore students interested in taking the PSAT10 (the preliminary test for PSAT). It is time to sign up! The cost is $16 and can be paid to Mrs. Day or through Payforit.net. Deadline to sign up is Friday, December 7. This test gives you an idea how you will score on the PSAT which is used for National Merit scholarship. See Mrs. Day if you have questions and to sign up.

If you need a little help with your math class, the Math Club is here for you. Come to room A112 on Tuesday mornings from 7:45-8:15. Bring your math work with you and get help from some of Captain Shreve's best math students.
Are you planning or already working on a research or writing assignment? Would you like a little extra time to work on it at school or someone to help you get over the rough spots? Starting this week, October 1, we will have a Writing Center/Workshop after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-4:45 in room A214. We will be there to answer questions and help you with problems. This applies to any research or writing assignment in any class. Contact Ms. Reeser with questions.
